Privacy Policy (Datenschutzerklärung)

This policy explains what personal data is processed when you visit this website, in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). In short: this site does not use cookies, tracking, analytics, social media plug-ins or external fonts. The only data processed is the technical data any web server needs to deliver a page, and the data you send us yourself through the booking form or by e-mail.

1. Controller

Michael Urban, Tulpenstr. 5a, 85748 Garching, Germany. E-mail: murban2006@gmail.com

2. Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by Netlify, Inc., 512 2nd Street, Suite 200, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you open the site, the hosting provider’s servers automatically record technical data that your browser transmits: IP address, date and time of the request, the page requested, the referring page, browser type and version, and operating system. This is needed to deliver the site securely and to detect misuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure and stable website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Log data is kept only as long as needed for these purposes and is then deleted under Netlify’s retention rules. We have concluded a data processing agreement with the provider (Art. 28 GDPR). Data may be transferred to the USA; the transfer is based on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and the EU standard contractual clauses (Art. 45/46 GDPR).

3. Booking form and contact by e-mail

If you use the booking form, we process the details you enter: your name, organisation, e-mail address, event details and message, plus the time of submission. The form is provided by our hosting provider Netlify (Netlify Forms). Netlify stores the submission and forwards it to our e-mail inbox, which is operated by Google Ireland Limited (Gmail). Both providers may process data in the USA; the transfer is based on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45 GDPR) and the EU standard contractual clauses (Art. 46 GDPR). The same applies if you write to us by e-mail.

We use the data only to answer your enquiry and, if it leads to a booking, to prepare and carry out the keynote. The legal basis is the initiation or performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We delete submissions in Netlify and in our inbox once your request has been dealt with, unless statutory retention periods (for example under commercial or tax law) require us to keep them longer. A hidden spam-protection field in the form contains no personal data.

4. No cookies, no tracking, no external services

This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking tools. The fonts (Rubik and Public Sans) and all images are stored on the site itself, so no connection is made to Google or any other third-party server when you visit. Apart from the booking form described above, no data you enter is sent anywhere.

5. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR),
  • have incorrect data corrected (Art. 16 GDPR),
  • have your data erased (Art. 17 GDPR),
  • restrict processing (Art. 18 GDPR),
  • receive your data in a portable format (Art. 20 GDPR),
  • object to processing based on our legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR).

To exercise these rights, write to the e-mail address above. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for us is the Bavarian Data Protection Authority for the private sector: Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht (BayLDA), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany.

6. Changes

We update this policy when the website or the legal requirements change. Last updated: 2 November 2026.
